Sorry, that’s not right.
The most recent dredging of the Delaware River was completed in 2019, two years behind schedule and $100 million over budget. The 10-year project (which was originally approved in 1992) increased the depth of the river from 40 feet to 45 feet over a 100-mile stretch. Unfortunately, dredging poses threats to natural ecosystems, as it destroys habitat, increases suspended sediment, and increases underwater noise.
